In my 'Chromatic Harmony' series, I embark on an enthralling journey through the spectrum of color, using hues to stir emotions in a way similar to how a musician uses notes in a melody. Each of my pieces showcases a unique blend of colors, created through a combination of acrylics, inks, watercolors, and pastels, which seems to gently pulsate, exuding positive energy and infusing any home with radiant vibrancy.
My most recent releases are created with elements like cut-glass glitter and glossy iridescent acrylic, which play with light reflection to create a unique interaction between the artwork, its viewer, and the surrounding environment. Ambient light brings each piece to life, revealing a dynamic interplay of colors that captivates and engages. This approach transforms traditional 2-dimensional painting into an immersive 3D experience, emotionally resonant and inviting you to feel as if you're an integral part of the artwork itself.

The 'Bloom' series focuses on my favorite artist: nature. There is so much beauty in the natural world and its astounding use of color, pattern, and symmetry. I’m driven to capture this tremendous beauty: from the surprise of bare winter branches transforming into blooming trees to the patterns in molecules invisible to the naked eye, to the innate order of the Fibonacci sequence seen in delphiniums, pineapples, and nautilus shells.
Despite its purity, nature is never untouched. The man-made world inevitably intermingles, and no matter how hard we try, the materialist, consumerist world rears its head. Thus, I incorporate elements of my entropic series here, drawing inspiration and materials from various sources such as personal illustrations and photography, vintage books, and magazines. Everything is deconstructed and reconstructed as I assemble the elements onto giant sheets of paper. These are then further cut into individual flowers, fauna, and butterflies, and combined into a 3D collage on acrylic sheets. The result invites the viewer to discover the fine detail and intricate patterns of the individual flowers, reminding us of the wonder and magic of the natural world surrounding us.

Are these abstract aerial views of geological landscapes, or micro-impressions of crystals and the human body? My 'Symphonic Atlas' series, inspired by my favorite muse, nature. There is so much beauty to be inspired by all around us. The swirls of vibrant agate rock, wavy patterns in natural land formations, a cross-section of a rainbow-hued crystal, and the candy-colored stripes lining a glacier are among my inspirations. As well as beauty, there is mystery in nature. As such, I love to keep the true meaning of each piece ambiguous: are these works reflecting contained, finite moments or small snapshots of something larger and continuous?
No matter how viewers interpret them, I hope the series challenges perceptions and invites questioning. These works are created on acrylic, oftentimes iridescent acrylic, and layered with swirls of mixed media and coated in cut glass glitter and crystals—a combination that creates an interactive effect, drawing the viewer in and changing as one moves around the piece with its shifting luminosity.

FAQs
Each artwork at Hapi Art is a one-of-a-kind creation by Kristi Kohut. There's only one original of each piece, making it a uniquely special and exclusive addition to your space. The joy lies in owning something truly distinctive, a piece with its own story and authenticity that can't be replicated.
Certainly! Kristi's commissions are in high-demand and often booked out far in advance, but we welcome inquiries about commissions. While not guaranteed, if your project aligns with her creative vision and time permits, she may take on new commissions. To inquire, reach out to us, and if Kristi is unavailable, we'll gladly add you to the waitlist for a chance to bring your vision to life in the world of Hapi Art.
At Hapi Art, we believe in offering everyone the best possible value from the start. While surprises are our specialty, discounts are rare here. We want each collector to feel they are getting the utmost value, and occasionally, we might unveil a special surprise, but those moments are truly exceptional.
At Hapi Art, we prioritize authenticity and quality. Kristi has chosen to sell her artwork almost exclusively through our website and studio to ensure that this standard is met. To guarantee authenticity, we provide a Certificate of Authenticity with each purchase and maintain detailed records for every piece. This commitment ensures that you are receiving an original and genuine creation from Kristi Kohut.Beware of imitations! If a piece claims to be from Hapi Art and is being sold elsewhere, it's likely not the real deal. To secure the authenticity and quality that defines Hapi Art, always purchase directly through our website or studio.
The art world has been an intimidating, inaccessible place for too long. That’s not Kristi’s style, so she set out to do things differently. She cut out the expensive middleman, ditched the stuffy gallery vibe, and made her work easily available online almost exclusively through her studio—so everyone can experience the joy of being a collector and be assured of its quality and authenticity.
The only exception to this is Liz Lidgett Gallery in Des Moines, Iowa. Kristi has a longstanding relationship with Liz, who shares the same mission of making the art-collecting process a joyful and pleasant experience.
When you purchase a piece from Liz Lidgett Gallery, rest assured that each artwork undergoes our rigorous quality control process. Every piece is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity, affirming its genuine origin and value.
Consider it your artwork's passport in the art world. The Certificate of Authenticity (COA) ensures you can buy, sell, or insure your piece with confidence. Hapi Art is the sole issuer of COAs for Kristi Kohut's creations. We provide them for paintings, prints, sculptures, and other artistic endeavors. Stickers, posters, defaced currency, or anything not originally intended as a 'work of art' doesn't make the COA cut. And of course, we steer clear of anything created illegally – we have a lawyer for that.
We totally get the jitters – buying art online is a big deal! But guess what? We've got your back. We're more than thrilled to share extra images, videos, and even cool mockups of the art you're eyeing. We want to make the art buying experience super transparent and reassuring for you.
Just to sprinkle some extra joy on it, we've sold over 10,000 pieces to more than 3,000 awesome collectors. Returns? We can count them on one hand, and it's usually because someone found another piece they fancied (we totally get it). Almost all our collectors – a whopping 95% – snag their treasures virtually. And you know what they tell us? The art looks even more incredible in person, and they're downright thrilled with the top-notch quality. But don’t just take our word for it, see what collector’s have to say.
